Chemistry Symposium |
Symposium For Chemistry Teachers: Close to 70 teachers of Chemistry from city schools gathered under one roof at the Department of Chemistry,IIT on 21.12.2011 and unanimously agreed that a motivated teacher alone can motivate a student to learn and love Chemistry. And every single person who spoke at the ‘Symposium for Chemistry Teachers’, (whether on stage or off) as well as the several activities that the teachers were engaged in during the one day workshop was testimony to the fact that they were all motivated indeed.
Whether it was ‘Joy of Teaching’ ( Dr. Balaji – Mechanical Engineering, IIT M ) or the ‘Kitchen as a Laboratory’ ( Mrs. Lalitha Chandrasekaran , Dean – Academics , Ramana Vidyalaya ) or our own teacher Mr. R.Gowrisankar’s ‘Dynamics of Questioning’ ( ..pass Benzoyl chloride from one end of a tube and Nitrous oxide from the other end , will the person, cry first or laugh? ) each and every session was received with enthusiasm by the teacher participants. |
